Hello, my name is Tanya Vall (she/her). I am a Registered Therapeutic Counsellor based in Vancouver, B.C.
I specialize in supporting adults (18+) navigating trauma, grief, anxiety, and life transitions, though I welcome the opportunity to support you through whatever life is bringing your way.
My approach integrates somatic, mindfulness-based, person-centred, and cognitive-behavioural modalities. I aim to help clients reconnect with emotional, physical, and spiritual well-being through a compassionate and collaborative process.
I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology with minors in Indigenous Studies and Gender Studies, as well as a Certificate in Social Justice from Simon Fraser University.
Before becoming a counsellor, I spent five years working on the frontlines of harm reduction and community care in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside. My work focused on supporting women and gender-diverse individuals through emergency shelters, drop-in centres, and outreach services for perinatal clients navigating addiction.
Earlier in life, I worked many years in the restaurant industry. Being in service to my community—whether through hospitality, social services, or now in therapeutic practice—has always been a central theme in my life.
My counselling style is warm, relational, and grounded in authenticity. I believe that healing unfolds naturally when nurtured within a safe, respectful, and trusting therapeutic alliance.
